  1. Intorduction

  3. I'm not one in to doc files, but there has been a
  4. bunch of messages on a log renamer and tosser. 
  5. well here it is.... the Multi-Purpose do it all but
  6. windows.....

  8. How to Install
  9. ---------------------------------------------------
  10. First off the cfg file goes .... thats right in you
  11. configfiles directory, and the other well put it
  12. where you want...

  14. What does it do?

  16. well this little proggy does everything asked and a
  17. bit more.... I have tested it only a litttle but 
  18. I belive that it wont mess up on ya...

  20. 1. It will take all *.log files in your mebbs dir
  21.    doesnt matter if you get something in the future
  22.    like Freddy's-fun.log as long as it has the .log
  23.    it will toss it.

  25. 2. the config file (will grow I'm sure) allows you
  26.    to have the files go where ever you want, this
  27.    way you dont have to edit the arexx program to
  28.    adjust it.

  30. 3. You can have the files tossed to where ever how
  31.    ever you want... huh?

  33.    In english, this means you can have the files 
  34.    tossed in to your favorit directory with the
  35.    name changed to one of the following:
  36.  
  37.    FILENAME.LOG_DAY_MONTH_YEAR
  38.    YEAR_MONTH_DAY_FILENAME.LOG
  39.    DAY_FILENAME.LOG_YEAR_MONTH
  40.  
  41.    Please note that these are just examples and
  42.    you have four keywords to play with.

  44. ***Note Each keyword must be used, and only used
  45.    once....

  47.    so there cant be a FILENAME.LOG_YEAR_FILENAME.LOG
  48.  
  49. 4. Back in the config again there is another entry
  50.    at line 11, this is weather you want auto deletion
  51.    of your logs or not, if so just change the words
  52.    to the number of days that you want it to save, 
  53.    if you have 30 then you will keep a listing of 30days
  54.    prior to deletion....

  56. 5. Do not change name format once you have started the
  57.    system as I'm not even sure what the outcome may be...
